After hearing much chatter, lots of opinions, and plenty of anger surrounding the Lifetime docu-series, "Surviving R. Kelly", I decided to watch for myself. To say my heart was broken into a million pieces is an understatement. As I watched in astonishment, I knew I had to say something! Young ladies hold a special place in my heart, and mentoring them is one of the greatest and most fulfilling assignments God could have ever given me. I know what it’s like to be young and lost trying to figure life out. In this episode, I share my heart about the importance of protecting our children from predators. I encourage parents and caretakers to create the space to have the uncomfortable but necessary conversations that can potentially prevent violations, manipulation, and abuse.
